  • What is a HGP? A HGP is short for “Home Garden Packet.” It is suitable for use for the home gardeners and beginners in gardening. HGPs cost either $1.00 or $3.00 depending on the crop you buy. Click here to see an HGP.
  • What is the postage rate for only ordering HGPs? There is no postage if you only order HGPs. Postage is FREE!!!
  • What is the difference between a determinate and an indeterminate tomato variety? A determinate variety just means that the given tomato variety grows as a bush. Indeterminate variety means that the given tomato variety grows as a vine.
  • What is the difference between the Supersweet #9A corn and the Silver corn? The main difference between the Supersweet #9A corn is that it is a yellow variety while the Silver corn is a white variety. The Silver has larger and tender kernels, but both are very sweet and delicious. Both make excellent backyard grown corn all year long.
  • Are seeds able to be picked up and if so when and where? Yes you may come by and purchase seeds directly from us. We are open M-F 8:30am to 3:30pm Hawaiian time except holidays. Please contact us before arriving so we can prepare your seeds in advance. **Note: The University of Hawaii has several designated public parkings areas on campus. Payment is via new Parking Kiosk stations situated in each area. Price various depending on length of time purchased. Please check our campus map to find us.
  • Can we order Rainbow or SunUp GMO papaya seeds without attending an educational session? No. Both seeds require an educational session before one orders them. The session can be viewed at any county extension service office or here at U.H. Manoa. Please contact the appropriate office to set up an appointment. **Note: Rainbow and SunUp cannot be sold or shipped out of the State of Hawaii.
